Ulcinj · a guide to your stay
Kalaja and Mala Plaža set the rhythm for a town stay. Velika Plaža requires choosing a specific sector, while Valdanos, the salt pans and Ada Bojana each need their own arrival and return. Choose your base according to what you want every day.
Do not plan all of Ulcinj around a single pin. The town shore, Štoj and individual Velika Plaža sectors are different starting points. Before booking, compare the entrance, route to the bathing area and transport for separate excursions.
Before booking
Compare the route to your chosen beach, your daily plans and the return to your accommodation.
For Kalaja, Mala Plaža and shorter town outings.
For a stay focused on your chosen sandy sector.
For combining the town, beach and one nature site on different days.
With children or a pushchair? Check the actual route from the entrance to the beach, steps and climbs. A terrace view does not show the entire approach.
Choose according to your day
Choose a bathing area according to your daily plan. The name Ulcinj covers very different access routes and transport needs.
For a day in town
Mala Plaža combines swimming with the rhythm of the town shore.
For a specific sandy sector
Velika Plaža requires choosing the correct access and return route.
For an outing to a cove
Consider Valdanos as a separate day among pebbles and olive groves.
A small cove near the Old Town, with access and swimming conditions checked separately.
Liman II location and access →Your first arrival, without rushing
On the first day, sort out your part of town or beach. For tomorrow, choose one separate outing instead of visiting every distant point.
Choosing your base and planning the first days →Walk the actual route from your accommodation to the water and clarify parking or transport.
From a town base, choose a shorter Kalaja circuit; along Velika Plaža, get to know your sector and a place for a meal break.
For Valdanos, the salt pans or Ada, check entry and return. Do not combine every site into a compulsory daily circuit.
With children: adapt your town plan to steps, and at the beach check water entry and marked zones.
Into nature: before visiting, check the salt pans' visiting arrangements and Valdanos's permitted paths; a bird species' presence is not guaranteed.
Arrival and getting around each day
